The Late Night Beep
You are Sam, the night helper at WKRO Radio. The clock blinks 11:47 PM. Outside, the town is asleep. Inside, the lights hum low and the big machines blink like tired eyes.
You sip your cocoa and check the sound board. Then you hear it. Beep… hummmm… beep… A strange noise nobody played. It does not come from a song. It does not come from a person. The red meter glows brighter and brighter, like an angry little sun.
The cocoa goes cold in your hand. The beep seems to be listening back. What do you do?
Some sounds are safer to study from far away.
