The Lighthouse at Sundown
The sky turns deep orange as you reach the old lighthouse. The wind pulls at your coat. The tall tower creaks and groans like it is trying to speak.
High up at the very top, a small lantern glows in the window. The yellow light flickers, soft and warm. Someone is up there. Someone is waiting.
Your heart beats fast. Could it really be him after all these years? You step closer to the heavy wooden door. It is open just a crack. Inside, you see the bottom of a long spiral staircase winding up, up, up into the dark.
