The Lifeboat Exodus


You haul the brass launch-levers as steam screams through the airlock chambers. Pod after pod fires into the black, copper hulls glinting like seeds scattered from a dying flower. A widow presses her child into your arms; a porter weeps as he seals a hatch on strangers.

Only one pod remains. The corridor groans. Choose, Engineer. Choose now.
