The Shared Crown

Ten years on, you walk past the glass case where the brittle scroll rests, its mistranslation now the founding charter of a confederation no one thought possible. Children chatter in both tongues outside, arguing over a kite.

They call you First Translator of the Realm. You insisted every village claim the title too. A word undid us, you tell each new apprentice. Let words remake us, carefully, together.
