The Fall and the Catch
You leap from the rooftop at a swooping drone, muscles remembering powers you no longer have. For one stomach-twisting second, you fall. Wind roars. The street rushes up.
Then—thunk!—a soft net catches you, yanked skyward by a buzzing homemade grappling drone. Below, the 12-year-old inventor grins behind her goggles, controller in hand. "Told you I had your back, Captain!"
